Testing:
We tested it
thoroughly on a number of PC's at a local cyber cafe
and on the computers at our local library and were

purchasing an application. Even worse a false
positive could cause you to delete a legitimate
software program or critical system files that make
your PC run.
We can say with
confidence that false positives are NOT a problem
with Spyware Detector.
They also have the
largest spyware detection database which is
updated 2-3 times each week.
Customer Support
As mentioned above,
Spyware Detector removed "many" of the spyware
problems we encountered but not every one.
This is to be
expected as some Spyware problems are much too
complex to be removed with an automated scan.
When such problems
arise, you often must rely on the customer support
provided by the vendor. In many cases, the
support you do receive is inadequate and unfriendly.
Much to our surprise,
when we contacted Spyware Detector support about the
spyware problems not fixed with their scanner, the
support team was extremely responsive and eager to
help.
They asked us to
provide as many details as possible about the
problem and worked with us until the problem was
solved and even followed up to make sure we were
satisfied with the solution provided.
Update:
Since our initial review of Spyware Detector
they have added an advanced support feature that
allows you to automatically send their support
staff the results of your spyware scan.
This allows them
to personally analyze and diagnose your problem
if any spyware remains on your PC after running
a spyware scan.
To our knowledge,
they are the only spyware remover vendor
offering this feature and it represents a step
forward in the evolution of spyware detection
solutions to combat the increasing complexity of
removing spyware and adware.
To use this
feature, simply run a "Full Scan" and after it
has completed click on the "Export Worms"
button.
This will allow
you to send a report directly to support to
analyze your infections and get back to you with
the proper line of action.
You
must be connected to the internet to send the
report.
